MODESTO, CALIFORNIA -- Boyd Corporation, a leading global provider of precision-engineered components, is proud to announce it is the first manufacturing company in Stanislaus County to achieve certification as a Green Sustainable Business, awarded by the Stanislaus Green REACON Team on February 20, 2014.

Boyd’s California operations participated in monthly Green Team meetings to share and collaborate with other Central Valley businesses about green improvements, creative waste reduction ideas and innovative recycling opportunities. Boyd started the green certification process by developing recycling processes, studying energy and water usages and ways to improve consumption. Boyd’s California Quality Team documented the environmental studies and process improvements to support achieving the certification, which is an additional commitment to environmental awareness beyond the ISO 14001 Environmental Certification the operation already holds.

Ceremonies were held at both Boyd’s headquarters and the Modesto Chamber of Commerce in Modesto, California. Guests at the Green Ribbon Cutting on February 19th and 20th included City Council Members as well as local and State Elected Officials: Representatives from the offices of Congressman Jeff Denham, Senator Tom Berryhill, Senator Anthony Cannella, Assemblyman Adam Gray,Senator Cathleen Galgiani, Assemblywoman Kristin Olsen, as well as City Council Representatives, Jenny Kenoyer and Bill Zoslocki.
